🧭 Pilot's Choice / Create Your Own Operation

Start here. Build the Free Flight operation you already want to fly, then let OAS wrap it in dispatch structure.

Unusual client, unusual route. Keep the paperwork clean.

Session-only override for add-ons, mods, or aircraft not listed above.

Manual planned-duration adjustment is permitted for Multi-Hop Operations, Fuel Stops, and RON (Remain Over Night) logistics. Note: This defines the total planned flight time, not the live elapsed time.

🎲 Quick Start Contracts

Ready.

Tip: Quick Contract and Browse Jobs are secondary “surprise me” modes when you want OAS to pick the work for you.

🗂️ 5-Job Board

Tip: Some small airports use local codes like S03 or 3S8. Search by code in the sim map or zoom in.

Generate a quick-start board when you want multiple choices.

✈️ Available Aircraft

Aircraft options appear after you create or select a dispatch.

🏠 Company Setup

Reduces “Maintenance Hit” probability. Estimated payout includes insurance cost when selected.

Crew Passive Income is a small once-per-real-day support payment based on fleet size/value after upkeep. It is optional flavor income, not a management grind.

Company setup auto-saves when changed. Home-base returns get a small bonus. Insurance costs money per flight but reduces “Maintenance Hit” probability. Crew income can be run once per real day.

Experimental Build — Operations Sandbox Direction

This experimental branch is testing OAS as a lightweight Free Flight operations sandbox. The goal is still simple: give Free Flight a purpose without turning it into a management sim.

Recent Experimental Changes:
• v0.6.7 beta polish: aviation cream Day Ops canvas, readable form controls, briefing auto-expansion, and Flight Log archive styling
• v1.0 Beta Operation Types now define dispatch intent and flavor, not scripted rules
• v0.6.7 Paper EFB pass: light dispatch-data cards in Day and Night Ops with clearer action buttons
• Consolidated timer Pause / Resume into one dynamic control and moved EFB controls to Start / Pause-Resume / Reset / Cancel
• Promoted Pilot’s Choice / Create Your Own Operation as the primary app flow
• Reframed Quick Contract and 5-Job Board as secondary quick-start modes
• Added grouped MSFS aircraft selection and session-only Manual Entry for custom/mod aircraft
• Added Flight Memo notes to the Flight Log
• Added Print / Save Log and Copy Log Text tools
• Added an optional pilot-controlled Operation Timer for live dispatch timing
• Refined Operation Timer buttons with quiet avionics-style state illumination
• Improved lower-half visual hierarchy and Flight Log journal readability
• Added inline contextual operational guidance for the next dispatch step
• Added subtle Ops Desk advisory flavor to bring more life to the Dispatch Card
• Added completion protection for running timers and early accidental completion
• Added no-penalty Cancel Dispatch for planning/test operations that never began
• Adjusted Pilot’s Choice heavy-aircraft payout scaling for C-17 / heavy cargo operations
• Normalized Pilot's Choice payout floors so intent-based operations respect selected aircraft operating scale
• Replaced aircraft data placeholder notes with pilot-facing operational flavor
• Added final Phase 2 identity refinements: atmospheric dispatch lines and Notable Flights
• Clarified PNW/Oregon regional DNA while preserving worldwide Pilot’s Choice freedom
• Shifted Experimental focus toward polish, QA, wording consistency, and immersion cleanup
• Updated OAS branding, banner presentation, and metallic gold / navy UI polish

Future Improvements:
• Airport pool integration for regional operation packs
• Curated Historic / Legendary operation flavors as optional sandbox presets
• Optional relaxed / scenic / untimed operation modes
• Better aircraft identity bonuses for bush, cargo, VIP, heli, vintage, and heavy operations
• Multi-leg operation support for fuel stops, relays, transfers, and overnight routes
• Continued UI polish while preserving the KISS philosophy

Experimental is the sandbox for new OAS ideas. Expect testing features, feedback-driven changes, and lightweight iteration. Stable builds will remain polished, reliable, and beginner friendly.

🧭 Quick Start (How to Use)

Think of this as your EFB dispatch companion — not a mod.
Works alongside MSFS 2024/2020 or X-Plane using Free Flight.

1. Create an Operation
Use Pilot's Choice to build your own route, or use Quick Contract / 5-Job Board for a fast randomized prompt

2. Review Dispatch
Check route, distance, timer, and estimated net payout

3. Select Aircraft
Pick from your fleet (highlighted row = active aircraft)

4. Start Timing
Use the planned operation duration shown in the Dispatch Card. Start the optional OAS Operation Timer before takeoff, pause/resume anytime, or fly relaxed with no timer

5. Fly the Operation
Use Free Flight — follow the route and complete the objective

6. Apply Results
Select bonuses/penalties honestly (pilot-driven system)

7. Complete Operation
Log payout, costs, maintenance, and progress your company

Note: Your fleet location follows your last completed flight.
Relocating aircraft may incur Deadhead costs.
